It's true - the 2007 KS/MO NSTOY Conference is one of the most economical conferences ever! The host TOYs have worked diligently to raise funds and keep the costs low. Plus, we have increased your educational opportunities and fun for families and friends. This will be a GREAT conference in the Midwest. We invite you to take part and bring your family and friends to join the fun.
This is your chance, as a Teacher of the Year, to make an educational difference in two ways: 1)Present at the Practitioner's Conference held in conjunction with MidAmerica Nazarene University. Our conference theme “The Power To Make A Difference” will feature Sandra Roberts and one of her students as they describe their world renowned 6 Million Paper Clip Project. All breakout sessions will be given by NSTOY members as they share their own power to make a difference. We are expecting 500 area teachers. We need YOU to present to this awesome group. (See the Proposal to Present) 2) Share your love of teaching with high school seniors interested in teaching at the Future Teachers Academy at Emporia State University, Emporia. Energize these
young people as we spend the first day of their conference with them. An added benefit of this post conference activity is a tour of the National Teachers Hall of Fame.
Invitations are going out for class reunions for the class of 2002 (5 years), class of 1997 (10 years), class of 1987 (20 years), and class of 1977 (30 years). Join your Teacher of the Year classmates, especially for these reunion years. We are planning a First Timers Reception to welcome all new TOYs and those for whom this is their first conference. There will also be a special meeting time for State Presidents or representatives from each state to share state TOY activities.
