A Grant for Teacher by a Teacher

This grant was set up by the A-Tech Board Game Club as a way to give back all those that supported us in our grant applications over the years.
The grant is a $500 seed grant to help teachers acquire games to do one or more of the following:
- Start a Board Game Club at a school
- Increase the Game inventory of a current club.
- Purchase games to help teach curriculum.

10/11 - Gear Up Grant $2500
Purchasing Activexpression Student Responders for my classroom. These are powerful tools concerning assessment. I look forward to using these in my classroom.
08/09 - Teacher to Teacher Grant $500
NCTM Annual Conference Presentation - This grant helped me to travel to Washington D.C to present at the National Mathematics Teacher Conference. The presentation focused on using games to teach deductive reasoning..
07/08 - Teacher to Teacher Grant $300
NCTM Annual Conference Presentation - This grant helped me to travel to Salt Lake City to present for the FIRST time at the National Mathematics Teacher Conference. The presentation focused on using games to teach mathematical concepts.
06/07 - Junior League of Las Vegas Education Grant $1250
Theme of Grant: Writing in Math & Presenting Math Concepts. This grant help to purchase many children's fictional math literature (The Greedy Triangle, The Number Devil, Sir Cumference and the Knight's of the Round Table, etc...). Student will read these and then create their own mathematical adventure. The other part of the grant purchased a document camera for student and group presentations.
05/06 - Clark County Educational Foundation (Teacher to Teacher) $400
Theme of Grant: Attending the NCTM Conference in St. Louis. This grant provided money to attend the NCTM annual conference.
05/06 - Clark County Educational Foundation (Express Grant) $500
Theme of Grant: Hands on Mathematics. This grant looked a number of hands on experiences for the geometry classroom and their benefit. Origami, paper folding, 3-D models and building cubes were purchased and used.
05/06 - Clark County Educational Foundation (Impact Grant) $3000
Theme of Grant: Thinking Inside the Box. This grant looked a using games to teach geometry. A number of non-typical american and german games were purchased to directly teach curricular objectives.
