Welcome to the Largest High School Board Game Club in Las Vegas. We currently have over 100 students on the rolls and have somewhere between 30 and 40 students attend our club time each week. We boast over 350+ games in our game closet. In Las Vegas gaming has a different meaning... for us our slogan is "Gaming without Gambling". |

The A-Tech Board Game Club
"Play it Forward" Grant |
 |
We are really proud of the Play it Forward Grant. This is our opportunity to give back to the community that got us started. The Board Game Club came as a function of a number of grants that I was awarded for my classroom. I am currently investigating the impact of teachinng specific curricular concepts through game play and while in this process the students wanted to extend that fun to after school. If we had never had those that believe that games could make an impact in the classroom, this all would have never started. Thus once we started to raise money we knew what to do with it - create a grant and give other teachers a chance to use games to benefit the lives of their students.
The grant is a $500 seed grant to help teachers acquire games to do one or more of the following:
- Start a Board Game Club at a school
- Increase the Game inventory of a current club.
- Purchase games to help teach curriculum.
Application Deadline: Sept. 11th, 2009 ---------- Application: PDF format or in WORD format

Board Game Marathons
The Board Game Marathon was introduced in our second year of existence. Steven McKnight and Mr. Smith (Advisor) in a leadership meeting came up with the idea of having a "longer time" to play some games. The hour of club time limited us to playing only certain games and we saw this as a way to diversify our game playing. We never forsaw that it would grow as it has. Along the way we have done a few things to improve the Board Game Marathons...

The A-Tech Board Game Club Game Chest
The Game Chest is a listing of our games in the club. The games have come to us through grants, fundraising and donations. Much of the money that we raise at each Board Game Marathon goes to purchasing the newest... coolest games on the market while also stockin up on more of our old favorites. We stock our shelves using two stores, Goodwill and BoardsandBits.com. Goodwill is a great way to purchase the common games that everyone knows (Sorry, Monopoly, Risk, etc...) and BoardsandBits.com is an awsome online store that has a great selection of new and old games.
The Game Chest has over 300 different games.... we look forward to the day that we boast about 1000!!! Of course where would we store it?
Take a look at our Game Chest!!
