Patrick Kelley Scholarship

Amount: $5,000.00
Eligibility: All high school seniors in Clark County who plan to attend an accredited 4 year post-secondary institution in the state of Nevada as a full-time student during the academic year following their graduation may apply for this scholarship. Applicants must have lettered in a high school varsity sport for at least one year and must be involved in some type of student or extra-curricular activity. Other qualifications include demonstration of financial need and cumulative GPA of 3.0. Please submit financial statement, one-page essay describing the following 1.) Educational and career objectives, 2.) A brief statement about yourself and any extracurricular activities in which you have been involved. A verification letter adds additional weight to your application. 3.) Why you should be a Patrick Kelley Youth Foundation scholarship recipient.
Two letters of recommendation from school personnel (teacher, school counselor, school administrator, coach), employer, community service organization, or another adult who knows you well. Only two letters will be sent to the selection committee; any additional letter will not be considered. Include Transcript (including 7th semester grades)/Test Scores, resume of awards, activities, employment (including average hours worked per week) and community service. Las Vegas Insurance Professionals, IAIP Scholarship

Sarah “Sadie” Wilson Scholarship Fund
was Founded in 1972 and dedicated to Sadie Wilson because of her strong belief
and support of the industry and Las Vegas Insurance Professionals previously
Insurance Women of Las Vegas, NAIW.
It is our honor to recognize a qualified candidate for this scholarship. The funds are
available to assist the recipient with their college tuition and related expenses.
The purpose of the LVIP’s Sadie Wilson Scholarship is to encourage and assist
students desiring a career in business, possibly insurance and to promote high
educational standards. This program enables commendable university students
majoring in business to experience education first hand.
Las Vegas Insurance Professionals, NAIW
Sadie Wilson Scholarship Fund

Eligibility:
To be eligible to receive a scholarship from LVIP’s Sadie Wilson Scholarship Fund,
a student must:
-Receive a nomination from an LVIP Member
-Be enrolled, or accepted for admission for the Fall/Winter Semester, for a
minimum of 12 credits per semester at a Nevada State College or University
-Major in Business or related area
-Never been convicted of a felony
-Submit a letter (1 page essay) explaining why they would be a good recipient
-Submit an outline of Community Service Experience
Requirements:
-Funds will be paid directly to the college
-Failure to maintain a GPA of 2.75 could jeopardize the recipient’s ability to keep
the scholarship
-Must visit at least 2 Association General Meetings per year. (either Las Vegas
Insurance Professionals or Sierra Nevada’s Association of Insurance Professionals)

Amount: up to $750/semester for a 4 year period

Application:
Application forms are available throughout the year and may be obtained from the
LVIP Scholarship Program Committee.
The selection of each scholarship winner, from the finalists, may be elected by a
committee made up of the Sadie Wilson Scholarship Fund Chairperson and selected
members of the local LVIP, AIAP Chapter.

The Professor R.S. Nigam & NPRI Freedom Scholarship

Who May Apply:
Any graduating high school student from Clark County, Nev., who will be pursuing a four-year degree program in Business, Economics, Political Science, Public Administration or a related field, at any accredited college or university. Full-time and part-time employees of the Nevada Policy Research Institute, as well as children and dependents of NPRI employees, are not eligible to receive this scholarship.

Requirements:
Applicants will be evaluated on the following –
A minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA
Volunteer, Community and Extra-curricular activities
Two-page essay addressing this question: During the 2013 Nevada Legislative Session, there have been many calls for raising taxes. What impact would raising taxes have on the economy in general, on Nevada’s unemployment rate and on struggling businesses and families?

Income proof will be required if you are selected for this scholarship. Parents’ combined Annual Gross Income, as shown in 2012 IRS Form 1040 line 22, should not exceed $100,000.

Award:
For year 2013, one scholarship in the amount of $2,000 will be awarded with a check payable directly to the student.

Socialites Scholarship Awards

The Socialites organization is now excepting applications for the August, 2013 scholarship
awards. Application packages are available on-line at www.thesocialiteslasvegas.com or the
application can be picked up at the office at 3665 N. Nellis Blvd. Ste 9. Las Vegas, NV 89115. Only graduating seniors who have passed their proficiency tests and have a college acceptance letter will be eligible for an award. Application package must be returned or postmarked no later than July 10, 2013 by 3.00pm. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Any students who meet the criteria listed above is encouraged to apply.
