Architecture Students Sweep 2012 AIA High School Design Awards

On Wednesday, April 18, at the “Historic Fifth Street School – Downtown,” the Las Vegas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects held the 2012 AIA High School Design Awards. This years contest challenged students to design accessible housing in the Las Vegas valley. A-TECH submitted 71 of the 145 district wide entries. A-TECH swept the student awards for the second year in a row and also took home the Dale Scheideman school award of $500.00 for the best master plan.
Winners were:

Dana Dimalanta – Honor Award $500.00 and Best of School $50.00
Shasta Percival – Merit Award $250.00 and Best of School $50.00
Ashley Franzen – Merit Award $250.00
Jacob Sarmiento – Honorable Mention $150.00
